About Food Junkee
Bringing the authentic taste of Afro-infused meals straight to your doorstep. We are passionate about celebrating a mixed cultural upbringing experienced growing up in a multicultural environment, bringing the best parts of African and Caribbean food in one serving.
Our Story
Founded in 2017, Food Junkee was born from a desire to bring quality food service where customers didn't have to choose between ordering from a Caribbean takeaway or an African takeaway—we wanted a place where all could be ordered from one roof. After working many years in the bakery industry, we were inspired by our children to take the leap. Despite being heavily pregnant and with a 6-month-old baby, nothing could stop the burning desire to start.
2017-2020: The Beginning
We started with a food van and did different marketplaces, weddings, small to large catering events, and festivals. Building our reputation one meal at a time.
2020: Pivot During COVID
When COVID forced us into lockdown, it was time to change our business strategy. That's when we opened our kitchen, serving many people in their homes during this challenging period.
2021: Back Outdoors
Once lockdown finished, we missed serving people outdoors. We started serving from food vans again and built a strong customer base through businesses, serving customers in their workplaces. Our kitchen continued to thrive alongside our mobile operations.
2025: Expanding Our Reach
We realized we had a huge market interest from customers who enjoyed our meals at work and home, but our reach was still limited. People out of reach were sending us messages asking how they could buy our meals. This is when we decided to create frozen/chilled meals, knowing we could reach more customers everywhere.

We enjoy bringing the best parts of African and Caribbean food in one serving. We aim to make it easier for everyone to experience the richness of our cuisines by thinking of ways to serve and reach all our customers with quick, efficient and fresh quality deliveries.
